Wisdom Mountain represents my heart’s deepest yearning and passion for a beautiful world of love, health, safety, and freedom for all beings.

I think of my life as the Journey to Wisdom Mountain, reminding me to serve that vision through who I am and what I do.   I walk the path to Wisdom Mountain wearing many hats: loving woman, mother, “compassionista,” minister (person of service), Christian mystic, and subtle activist. I walk using many practices such as art and dance, attunement, earth treasure vases, mindfulness, prayer, energy healing, and shamanic journeying.  I walk with many beloved communities, some of whose stories I’ll highlight here.

Earth Treasure Vase Global Healing Project Inspired by an ancient Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the Earth Treasure Vase Global Healing Project brings healing and protection to the Earth by filling consecrated clay vessels with prayers and offerings, and ceremonially burying them in the Earth in collaboration with indigenous elders, young activists and grassroots leaders in places where healing and protection are most needed around the planet. 30 vases have been buried over the past 25 years at the headwaters of the Rio Grande, Amazon, and Nile, Hiroshima, Australia aborigine territory, New Mexico nuclear sites, the Cloisters near 911, South Africa, and many more. Ceremonies have led to projects such as Peace Huts in Liberia and Women Witness Congo, the voices and visions of women birthing a new Congo.

Compassion Games The Compassion Games inspire compassionate action through a win-win challenge to lift kindness and altruism in our communities and world.  From Sept 11-21 each year, people and hundreds of teams activate compassion in their families, community, classroom,  organization, prison, business, church, … in the world’s only compassion coopetition. Game On!

Gaiafield Project The Gaiafield Project promotes the study and practice of subtle activism: contemplative practices like global meditation and prayer events to support social and planetary transformation. The Gaiafield Project develops subtle activism principles, theories, practices, and programs, and aims to co-create a global network of subtle activists to support a shift to a global culture of peace. Gaiafield hosts BeThePeace every September 21st. BeThePeace!

I offer this poem of peace, love, and joy to you, my friend.

Dreaming Wisdom Mountain

A dream came to me one day that keeps ringing inside my head.
It has breathed itself into my very being,
into my waking thoughts, my feelings, the pores of my skin.
I can dimly sense this dream lodged deep in the core of my soul.

It has changed me, this dream –
It has re-arranged me oh so slightly,
subtly shifting the rhythm of my heart so that nothing looks or feels the same.
It is beating inside me, nudging me forward in directions I could never have imagined.

Where did this dream come from? Is it mine, or is it one of yours?
It first came to me while I was sitting in the forest,
lulled into stillness by the whispering of the trees.
Maybe it was the trees that told me of a magical place and time

where all the people are at peace in their lives:
where everyone has good food and water,
a solid roof over their heads,
and medicine for their troubles

where no one lives in fear of being
shot or robbed or raped or bombed
because human society is rooted in
wisdom and love and life and sanity

where the whole earth society is thriving:
the wind blows clean and wild,
the land is rich and blessed,
the water flows clear and free,
and the birds, the bees, the flowers and the trees
are honored as the marvelous beings they are.

I yearn to live in this fairytale place,
this Wisdom Mountain land that is calling to me.
My heart aches for home, but I do not want to travel alone.
Will you weave your dream with mine?
What if the place is here? what if the time is now?
Please dream Wisdom Mountain into life with me.
Here. Now. Together, we dream it so.
